WHITE SUGAR

The sugar is a natural sweetener, solid source, crystallized, essentially consisting of discrete crystals of sucrose, obtained from sugar cane (Saccharum officinarum L) and sugar beet (Beta vulgaris L) by appropriate industrial process. One grain of sugar is between 30 and 70% smaller than a grain of rice.

White sugar is subjected to a chemical purification process -called sulfitación- by passing the sugar cane juice SO2 gas obtained by combusting sulfur.
